Matching Grant Update and Clarification

3 Aug

Here’s an update and clarification of how our Hand in Hand matching grant works:

We were recently awarded a matching funds grant to help with the expenses of our adoption through Hand in Hand Christian Adoption, Inc. a non-profit private operating foundation.  Hand in Hand will match  funds that are donated through our friends and family for the expenses of our adoption.  All funds that are received from our friends and family  above $5000 dollars will go toward the Brandt Adoption Fund, but will not be matched by Hand in Hand (the maximum Hand in Hand will match is $5000 but right now we have $0 matched!). The checks must be written out to Hand in Hand.  You will receive a tax-deductible receipt. This is a trusted organization which will give 100% of the donations made in our name (by August 24) and the matching grant to our adoption agency to help to cover some of the expenses of adopting our child.

You can find out more about Hand in Hand through their website at If you have further questions about the Hand in Hand matching grant program please feel free to  contact Hand in Hand Christian Adoption, Inc. with any questions you may have.  They can be reached at 913-248-5015 or by e-mail at

Please send all donations made payable to “Hand in Hand Christian Adoption” before August 24, 2010 to: (for tax purposes please include our name on the outside of the envelope only…do not put our name on the check itself)

If you are unable to give, please do remember our family in your prayers as we wait to be matched with our child and wait to complete the adoption.  Your prayers and encouragement mean so much to us!

Thanks for stopping by,

Heather & Alan
